Starting with KSTAR in 2006, KAT has been participating domestic and international fusion and accelerator R&D projects. KAT supplied of 93 tons of Nb3Sn strand to ITER from 2009 to 2016. In 2019, KAT awarded the contract for DTT project from ENEA in Italy and scheduled to supply 55 tons of Nb3Sn strand till 2022. As one of accelerator upgrade projects in Japan, KAT manufactured and supplied cryostats of cryomodule for RIKEN SRILAC QWR in 2019.
In 2006, KAT developed and supplied 2.2 tons of Nb3Sn strands for KSTAR CS conductor. KAT is proud to be recognized as one of the crucial contributor for the successful construction of KSTAR in cooperation with KFE (Korea Institute of Fusion Energy).

A superconducting cryomodule is one of the important section of particle accelerators. It requires not only cryogenic technology as it is operated at the cryogenic temperature of 2 K(-271 ℃) but also precise assembly to ensure the straightness of the accelerated particles. In 2017, KAT supplied HWR cryomodule prototype for RAON heavy-ion accelerator.
